Rue Saint-Laurent and Rue Chenoise
On the far side of the Isère, Rue Saint-Laurent lines up restaurants, bars and small terraces, in a very Italian-looking setting of old houses. On the other bank, Rue Chenoise brings together wine bars, concerts and more underground scenes. Two distinct moods for one shared aim: lingering a little longer than planned with someone you want to see again.
The MC2 and the Hexagone
The MC2, a major national stage on the edge of Mistral Park, programmes theatre, dance and music all year round. Nearby, in Meylan, the Hexagone showcases contemporary creations, often at the crossroads of arts and sciences. Picking a show together and discussing it afterwards at the theatre bar is a classic Grenoble ritual that has sparked many a connection.
Caserne de Bonne and markets
The Caserne de Bonne eco-district has reinvented a former military site as a lively neighbourhood, with gardens, shops and a cinema. The Estacade market and the Esplanade market offer another face of the city, more down-to-earth and foodie. On Lyad, Grenoble members share their favourite outings; it is up to you to find someone to try them with.
